Newly Inspected High Kirk of Glasgow Ensures There’s No Runaway Bride

JR Scaffold was absolutely delighted to be involved with works on one of Glasgow’s most iconic cathedrals – the High Kirk of Glasgow, also known as The Cathedral of St Mungo.

The High Kirk, based north of High Street near Glasgow City Centre, is several hundred years old and today houses a Church of Scotland congregation. The JR Scaffold team were called upon to provide a Lightweight Access Solution following stone inspections by Historic Scotland.

Images show the magnitude of the work required in order to access the affected areas. Scaffolders worked to a tight schedule due to an upcoming wedding to be held at the Cathedral.

Luckily, the bride wasn’t left disappointed as the structure was erected on the Monday and then dismantled on the Friday, giving the Historic Scotland team time to clean up for the big day.
